The challenge
Deezer set out to remove the barriers between streaming platforms and make music sharing effortless.
We asked ourselves: how can people truly enjoy music together if they’re not all on the same app?
How can we help them discover who shares their taste and connect through what they love most — music?
The vision
Our goal was to help people connect through music — to make every listener unique, yet part of a shared community.
We aimed to enable users to share, compare, and experience music together in meaningful, social ways.
The process
I led the full product design process — from early discovery to final delivery.
This included conducting user research together with a UX Researcher, Gwenaël Ahoomey, defining insights and opportunity areas, exploring concepts through ideation and wireframes, and finally crafting a high-fidelity interactive prototype aligned with Deezer’s design system.
The outcome
We created Shaker, to bring together users who share similar music tastes and to let them co-create a playlist that evolves in real time.
It turns music into a shared, social experience —
like a “music Tinder” for playlists.
